Rybakina fires 12 aces to beat Starodubtseva in US Open last 32
Elena Rybakina needed a tiebreak to settle the opening set before pulling clear for a 7-6 6-3 win over Yuliia Starodubtseva in the US Open round of 32. The serve was the difference: Rybakina struck 12 aces to one and dropped just a single double fault, and although she landed only 59.6 percent of her first deliveries, she won 82.4 percent of those points. Starodubtseva, by contrast, found just 51.6 percent of her first serves and won barely half of them, 51.1 percent, which left her under constant pressure. The Kazakh moved through with her serve looking in fine order.
