Blockx recovers from set down to beat Cobolli at US Open
Alexander Blockx lost the opening set in a tiebreak and then took over completely, beating Flavio Cobolli 6-7 6-3 6-0 6-3 to reach the US Open fourth round. The Belgian's serve was the difference: 17 aces against five, and 85.7% of points won behind a first delivery that landed 57.1% of the time. Even when he missed, Blockx stayed safe, winning 61.9% of his second-serve points while Cobolli managed only 41.8% on his own, a gap that explained the bagel third set. Four double faults to the Italian's five completed a clean afternoon's work for the winner.
