Potapova beats Anisimova in straight sets at US Open
Anastasia Potapova ended Amanda Anisimova's US Open run in the round of 32, taking control early for a 6-2 first set and then holding her nerve to close out a tighter second 7-5. The serve told the story: Potapova landed 60.9 percent of her first deliveries and won 62.3 percent of those points, while the American managed a similar 61.1 percent in but converted just 48.5 percent behind it. Anisimova's second ball was equally unproductive at 38.1 percent, against 44.1 for Potapova, whose four aces outweighed her six double faults. It was a composed hard-court win over a home favourite.
