Tiafoe cruises past Vacherot in straight sets at US Open

Frances Tiafoe needed no more than three sets to reach the US Open fourth round, seeing off Valentin Vacherot 6-4 6-2 6-4 in a match he controlled from the baseline of his own service games. The American landed 67.5% of his first serves and won 85.2% of those points, adding 61.5% behind his second delivery, so genuine pressure on his serve was rare. Vacherot struck 12 aces to Tiafoe's six but found only 51.1% of first serves, and his seven double faults left a second ball that produced just 42.2% of points won. The straight-sets win kept Tiafoe fresh in New York.
