Navarro beats Muchova in straight sets at US Open last 32
Emma Navarro moved into the US Open fourth round with a controlled 6-3 7-5 win over Karolina Muchova, taking the opening set comfortably and then edging a much tighter second. The American's second serve was the difference: she won 50.0 percent of those points, while Muchova managed just 34.4 percent behind hers. The Czech landed only 48.4 percent of her first serves, against 57.3 for Navarro, which left her exposed too often in the rallies. Both players struck three aces, but Navarro's three double faults never cost her the initiative. It was a statement result on home soil.
