Kostyuk cruises past Alexandrova 6-3 6-2 at US Open
Marta Kostyuk needed just two clean sets to move through the US Open Round of 32, dismissing Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-3 6-2. The difference lived on serve: although both players landed a similar share of first deliveries, Kostyuk won 79.3 percent of her first-serve points to Alexandrova's 57.6, and she struck four aces to her opponent's one. The Russian's second ball was the deeper problem, yielding only 35.7 percent of points against 56.0 for the Ukrainian, so even four double faults apiece never levelled the exchange. For Kostyuk, it was a commanding, low-drama afternoon in New York.
