Bonzi downs Buse in straight sets at US Open second round
Benjamin Bonzi moved through the US Open Round of 64 with a 6-2 7-6 6-0 win over Ignacio Buse, controlling the opening set, surviving the one genuinely tight passage in the second-set tiebreak, and then shutting the door with a bagel third. The Frenchman landed only 51.8% of his first serves but was close to untouchable behind them, winning 88.6% of those points along with eight aces and a single double fault. Buse got more first balls in at 58.5% yet won just 66.7% behind them, and six double faults plus 44.1% on second serve left him short.
