Blockx beats Trungelliti in four sets at the US Open
Alexander Blockx moved into the US Open third round with a 6-3 6-2 3-6 6-1 win over Marco Trungelliti, dropping only the third set before closing out the fourth in emphatic style. The Belgian's serve did the damage: 17 aces and an outstanding 90.4 percent of points won behind the first delivery, enough to cover a first-serve rate of just 51 percent and seven double faults. Trungelliti, by contrast, landed 53.6 percent of first serves but won only 66.1 percent of those points, and 12 double faults left his second serve, worth 43.1 percent, badly exposed.
