Gea recovers from a set down to beat Svajda at the US Open

Arthur Gea dropped the opening set 7-5 but took control thereafter, running out a 5-7 6-3 6-2 6-2 winner over Zachary Svajda in the US Open second round. The Frenchman's serve was the difference: 13 aces to seven, 60.2% of first serves landed against 52.8%, and 73% of those first-serve points won compared with Svajda's 60.7%. The gap widened behind the second delivery too, where Gea claimed 51% of points to the American's 46%, enough to offset his five double faults. It was a composed recovery that carried Gea into the third round in New York.
