Fritz routs Bellucci 6-0 6-1 6-1 in US Open second round
Taylor Fritz needed barely more than a warm-up to reach the US Open third round, dismantling Mattia Bellucci 6-0, 6-1, 6-1. The American's serve was untouchable: 11 aces against a single double fault, 85.7% of first-serve points won and 61.9% behind the second, which left Bellucci with almost nothing to attack. The Italian, by contrast, landed only 55.1% of first serves and won just 28.6% of his second-serve points, a figure that explains the procession of breaks. Four double faults compounded the damage. For Fritz, it was the cleanest possible start to his home Grand Slam campaign.
