Khachanov recovers from set down to beat Auger-Aliassime
Karen Khachanov dropped the opening set in a tie-break and then took command, beating Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-7 6-3 6-2 6-2 in the US Open round of 64. The turnaround was written into the serve numbers: although the Russian landed only 51.2% of his first deliveries, he won 77.8% of those points and an outstanding 61.7% behind his second, while Auger-Aliassime managed just 40.8% on his second serve and coughed up eight double faults to Khachanov's four. Both men struck 12 aces, but the Canadian's shakier second ball decided it, and Khachanov moved on in New York.
