Osaka beats Siniakova in three sets at US Open second round
Naomi Osaka came through a three-set test against Katerina Siniakova, 6-2 5-7 6-1, in the US Open Round of 64, dropping the middle set before racing away with the decider. Her serve carried the difference: 11 aces to three, and 76.0% of points won behind a first delivery that landed only 53.2% of the time, against 52.1% for Siniakova. The Czech's own numbers told the story of her trouble, with seven double faults and just 46.9% of second-serve points won. For Osaka, it was a bruising but decisive way to reach the third round in New York.
