Noskova beats Tararudee 6-4 6-2 to reach US Open third round
Linda Noskova needed only two sets to move past Lanlana Tararudee 6-4 6-2 in the US Open second round, tightening her grip on the match after an even opening set. The Czech's serve was the difference: she landed 60.6 percent of her first deliveries and won 80 percent of those points, striking seven aces despite five double faults. Tararudee, by contrast, found the box with just 47.3 percent of her first serves, and although she held 76.9 percent of those points, she won only 41.4 percent behind the second ball. That gap left the Thai constantly under pressure, and Noskova's straight-sets win carried her into the third round.
