De Minaur cruises past Guerrieri in US Open first round
Alex de Minaur made short work of Italy's Andrea Guerrieri in the US Open first round, winning 6-2 6-2 6-4 without ever letting the match drift. The Australian's first serve landed only 48.6 percent of the time, but it was punishing when it did, bringing him 79.4 percent of those points along with four aces, and even his second delivery held up at 55.6 percent despite five double faults. Guerrieri found the court more often at 64.5 percent, yet won just 37 percent behind his second serve, which is where the deficit became decisive. A clean, economical start to de Minaur's campaign.
