Lehecka cruises past Samuel in straight sets at US Open

Jiri Lehecka needed no more than three efficient sets to see off Toby Samuel 6-4 6-2 6-4 in the US Open round of 64, breaking at least once in each set and never letting the Briton back into the contest. The Czech's serve was the platform: 63.0% of first deliveries found the box and he won 76.5% of those points, adding six aces against three double faults. Samuel, by contrast, won just 36.7% behind his second serve and coughed up five double faults, a margin that decided the tight opening and closing sets. Lehecka moves on with his level intact.
