Pegula routs Kenin 6-3 6-1 in all-American US Open clash
Jessica Pegula needed just two one-sided sets to see off fellow American Sofia Kenin 6-3 6-1 in the US Open third round... in the round of 64, controlling the all-American meeting from the outset. The serve told the story: Pegula landed only 55% of first deliveries but won 86.4% of those points and an outstanding 77.8% behind her second, striking five aces against a single double fault. Kenin, by contrast, managed 50% first serves and won just 56.5% of first-serve points and 52.2% on her second, with three double faults. It was a clinical, low-error performance from Pegula on home soil.
