Bellucci routs Piros 6-4 6-2 6-0 in US Open first round
Mattia Bellucci needed only three increasingly one-sided sets to see off Zsombor Piros 6-4 6-2 6-0 in the opening round of the US Open. The Italian's serve was the difference: 14 aces, 66.2 percent of first deliveries landed and a punishing 89.4 percent of those points won, which left Piros almost no way back once the first set slipped away. The Hungarian, by contrast, found only 46.7 percent of his first serves and won 59.5 percent behind them, while seven double faults kept handing back initiative. For Bellucci, it was a commanding start on hard court in New York.
