Shelton recovers from a set down to beat Griekspoor in four

Ben Shelton dropped the opening set 6-1 but turned the US Open first-round match around, beating Tallon Griekspoor 1-6 6-1 7-6 6-2. Griekspoor found the court with only 55.6% of his first serves and won 70.9% behind them, while his seven double faults undercut a decent 45.5% return of second-serve points. Shelton's own second serve stayed vulnerable at 37.1%, yet the third-set tiebreak settled the contest and carried him into the second round on home soil.
