Popyrin recovers from a set down to beat Dimitrov at US Open

Alexei Popyrin dropped the opening set but grew into the contest to beat Grigor Dimitrov 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 in the first round of the US Open. The Australian's serve was the steadier platform: 11 aces against just two double faults, 65.4% of first serves landed and 73.5% of those points won, plus a solid 50.0% behind the second ball. Dimitrov struck 75.4% of his first-serve points but found the court only 52.3% of the time, and his 14 double faults left him winning just 40.4% behind the second serve. It was a hard-earned win on the biggest stage.
