Rublev rallies from two sets down to beat Virtanen in five
Andrey Rublev survived a five-set opening-round test at the US Open, losing the first two sets in tie-breaks before recovering to beat Otto Virtanen 6-7 6-7 6-0 6-2 7-6. The turnaround was built on serve: Rublev landed 63.8% of his first deliveries and won 83.2% of those points, with 20 aces and only three double faults. Virtanen matched him for firepower with 19 aces, but won just 65.5% behind his first serve and 50% behind his second, and he coughed up seven double faults.
