Bublik fires 18 aces to win US Open opener in four sets

Alexander Bublik opened his US Open campaign with a 6-4 6-2 3-6 6-1 win over Alexandra Wolf, taking control early, ceding the third set and then racing through the fourth. The Kazakh's serve carried him: 18 aces and 80.4 percent of points won behind a first delivery that landed 56.7 percent of the time, enough to absorb 10 double faults. Wolf never found the same platform, making just 49.5 percent of first serves and winning only 40.4 percent behind the second, where the match slipped away. Bublik moves into the second round.
