Harris fires 16 aces to beat Kennedy in US Open first round
Lloyd Harris made short work of American wild card Jack Kennedy in the US Open first round, winning 6-4 6-2 6-2 with the margin widening as the match went on. The South African's serve set the tone: 16 aces against a single double fault, and though he landed only 55.9 percent of first serves, he won 78.9 percent of those points and a punishing 66.7 percent behind his second. Kennedy, by contrast, found the court more often at 62.9 percent but won just 59.1 percent of first-serve points and 46.2 percent on his second. Harris moves into the second round without dropping a set.
