Majchrzak downs Medjedovic in straight sets at US Open

Kamil Majchrzak needed just three tidy sets to see off Hamad Medjedovic 6-3 6-3 6-3 in the opening round of the US Open. The Pole was close to untouchable behind his delivery, landing 65.7% of first serves and winning 89.1% of those points, while also taking 70.8% behind his second — a level that left the Serb with almost nothing to attack. Medjedovic, by contrast, found only 59.0% of first serves, won half his second-serve points and coughed up seven double faults against 13 Majchrzak aces. It was a commanding start to the Pole's tournament.
