Buse beats Fery 6-3 6-2 for Winston-Salem title
Ignacio Buse never let the Winston-Salem final drift, seeing off Arthur Fery 6-3 6-2 in straight sets. The Peruvian's serve was the steadier weapon: he landed 68.5% of first deliveries and won 70.3% of those points, while backing it up with 64.7% behind the second ball and just one double fault. Fery actually found the box more often, at 71.8%, but won only 46.4% of his first-serve points, a number that left him exposed on almost every service game. Two aces to none underlined the difference, and the trophy was Buse's reward.
