Liutova routs Kubka 6-4 6-0 to reach US Open main draw
Kristina Liutova completed the job in style in the final round of US Open qualifying, edging the opening set before sweeping Martyna Kubka away 6-4, 6-0. The Russian's first serve was the difference: she landed 63.3 percent of them and won 87.1 percent of those points, adding three aces despite four double faults. Kubka, by contrast, took just 55.6 percent behind her first delivery and only 40.9 percent behind her second, offering little resistance once the second set began. Liutova's reward was a place in the main draw at Flushing Meadows.
