Parry serves past Tauson in Monterrey quarterfinals
Diane Parry closed out a straight-sets quarterfinal win over Clara Tauson 6-3 7-5 in Monterrey, controlling the match from the baseline of her own serve. The Frenchwoman struck nine aces to Tauson's two and conceded just one double fault against the Dane's four, landing 67.2% of her first serves and winning 85.4% of those points. Tauson, by contrast, found only 58.6% of first serves and won 70.6% behind them, leaving her exposed in the tighter second set. With second-serve returns close to even, 45.0% to 45.8%, first-strike quality decided it, and Parry moved into the semifinals.
