Duckworth rallies past Marozsan in Winston-Salem quarterfinals
James Duckworth recovered from a first-set tiebreak loss to beat Fabian Marozsan 6-7 6-2 6-4 in the Winston-Salem quarterfinals. The Australian's serve was erratic but potent: only 46.6 percent of his first deliveries landed, yet he won 77.1 percent of those points and struck eight aces against Marozsan's one. Eight double faults kept the Hungarian in touch, and Duckworth's 49.1 percent return on second-serve points left little margin. Marozsan, by contrast, managed just 60.8 percent behind his first serve and added six double faults of his own. The result carried Duckworth into the semifinals on the hard courts.
