Coleman Wong beats Lajovic in straight sets to reach US Open main draw
Chak Lam Coleman Wong came through US Open qualifying with a clean 6-4, 6-3 win over Dusan Lajovic, controlling both sets without ever letting the Serb settle. The Hong Kong player landed only 57.4 percent of his first serves, but that delivery was close to untouchable when it went in, winning 80 percent of those points along with nine aces. Lajovic was the steadier server on percentage at 69.4 percent in, yet he took just 67.4 percent of his first-serve points and 47.4 percent behind the second. Six double faults did not cost Wong, who sealed his place in the main draw.
