Cerundolo past Baez 6-2 in Winston-Salem round of 16
Juan Manuel Cerundolo came through an all-Argentine round of 16 at Winston-Salem, the match ending with the scoreline reading 6-2 in his favour. The numbers explained the one-sided nature of it: Cerundolo landed only 39.5 percent of his first serves but won 86.7 percent of those points, and even behind his second delivery he took 56.5 percent. Baez, by contrast, put 62.5 percent of first serves in yet won just 48.0 percent of them, and his second serve yielded only 26.7 percent. Cerundolo struck two aces to none and moved into the quarter-finals.
