Bu Yunchaokete downs Gojo 6-4 6-4 in US Open qualifying
Bu Yunchaokete came through the US Open qualifying semifinals with a controlled straight-sets win, edging Borna Gojo 6-4 6-4 without ever losing the thread of either set. The Chinese player's first serve was the difference: he landed 67.9 percent of them and won 88.9 percent of those points, striking nine aces against just two double faults. Gojo actually hit more aces, eleven, and matched him for first-serve accuracy at 66.7 percent, but he won only 28.6 percent behind his second delivery, compared with 52.9 percent for Bu. That gap decided the close margins and carried Bu into the qualifying final.
