Cina edges Dellien in three sets to reach US Open qualifying final
Federico Cina came through a three-set battle with Hugo Dellien 6-3 5-7 7-5 in the US Open qualifying semifinals, recovering after letting the second set slip away. The Italian's serve was erratic in terms of placement, with just 51.5% of first deliveries landing, but it was heavy when it worked: he won 74.0% of those points against 63.8% for Dellien. The difference came on second serve, where Cina claimed 46.8% of points to the Bolivian's 32.4%, and Dellien's five double faults to Cina's three added to the burden. The win carried Cina into the final qualifying round.
