Mia Ristic never let the contest settle, racing through the opening set and closing out a 6-1 6-3 win over Francisca Jorge in the US Open qualifying semifinals. The difference sat squarely on serve: Ristic landed 60.4 percent of her first deliveries and won 82.8 percent of those points, while Jorge managed only 55.6 percent in and 60.0 percent won behind her first ball. The Portuguese also leaked ground on second serve, taking just 32.1 percent of those points to Ristic's 42.1.
