Bonzi routs Hijikata 6-1 6-1 in Winston-Salem last 16
Benjamin Bonzi needed barely an hour's worth of resistance to sweep past Rinky Hijikata 6-1 6-1 in the Winston-Salem round of 16, a rout from first ball to last. The Frenchman was close to untouchable behind his first delivery, landing 62.2% of them and winning 95.7% of those points, with four aces offsetting his four double faults. Hijikata, by contrast, found only 41.9% of his first serves and won just half of them, while 36.0% behind the second left him permanently exposed. For Bonzi, it was a statement of control on hard courts and a place in the quarter-finals.
