Wendelken fights back past Bertola in US Open qualifying

Harry Wendelken came from a set down to beat Remy Bertola 5-7 7-6 6-4 in the final round of US Open qualifying. The Briton landed just 51.9 percent of his first serves but made them count, winning 67.9 percent of those points against Bertola's 62.5, and he was the steadier man behind the second ball too, at 53.8 percent to 52.8. The difference was control: Wendelken hit four aces and four double faults, while the Swiss coughed up ten double faults alongside his six aces. The win carried the British qualifier into the main draw.
