Coleman Wong beats Neumayer in straight sets in US Open qualifying
Chak Lam Coleman Wong needed only two sets to move through the US Open qualifying semifinals, seeing off Austria's Lukas Neumayer 6-3 6-3. The Hong Kong player's delivery was the difference: he struck nine aces to Neumayer's four and, despite landing just 51.1 percent of his first serves, won 87.0 percent of those points and a punishing 68.2 percent behind his second. Neumayer was steadier in the box at 64.1 percent but converted only 61.0 percent of first-serve points and 52.2 percent on his second, with three double faults. It leaves Wong one win from the main draw.
