Hunter routs Inglis 6-3 6-0 in US Open qualifying quarterfinals
Storm Hunter turned an all-Australian US Open qualifying quarterfinal into a rout, beating Maddison Inglis 6-3 6-0 and conceding nothing in a second set that lasted only six games. The serve numbers explained it: Hunter won 96.0 percent of points behind her first delivery and 52.9 percent behind her second, landing 59.5 percent of first serves. Inglis, by contrast, found the box only half the time and won just 25.0 percent of her second-serve points, her four aces outweighed by five double faults. The straight-sets win carried Hunter through to the next qualifying round.
