Swan Routs Scott 6-3 6-1 to Reach US Open Qualifying Semis
Katie Swan needed little more than an hour's worth of clean tennis to sweep past American Katrina Scott 6-3 6-1 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Briton's serve was the difference: 68.1% of her first deliveries landed, and she won 78.1% of those points, backing it up with 60% behind the second ball and three aces without a single double fault. Scott actually found the court more often, at 72.3%, but won just 47.1% of her first-serve points and 46.2% behind the second, leaving her under constant pressure. Swan moves within one win of the main draw.
