Gojo fires 12 aces to beat Kolar in US Open qualifying
Borna Gojo needed only two efficient sets to see off Zdenek Kolar 6-1 6-4 in the final qualifying round at the US Open. The Croatian's serve settled the argument: 12 aces against a single double fault, 69.6 percent of first serves landed and 87.5 percent of those points won, leaving Kolar with almost nothing to attack. The Czech never found the same platform, putting just 54.2 percent of first serves in play, winning 56.2 percent behind them and coughing up five double faults. Gojo's reward was a place in the main draw.
