Dellien beats Echargui 6-4 6-4 in US Open qualifying
Hugo Dellien came through a tight straight-setter at US Open qualifying, edging Moez Echargui 6-4 6-4 to reach the final round of qualifying. The Bolivian's serve was the steadier of the two: he landed 70.2% of first deliveries, won 75% of those points and, crucially, 64.7% behind his second, without a single double fault. Echargui struck five aces to Dellien's two but made only 58.3% of first serves, and his second delivery yielded just 44% of points to go with four double faults. That margin, repeated set after set, decided a match with few loose games.
