Radivojevic beats Rinaldo Persson in US Open qualifying
Lola Radivojevic came through a straight-sets win over Kajsa Rinaldo Persson, 6-4 6-3, in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Serb's first serve was erratic, landing just 44.8 percent of the time, but it paid off when it did: she won 66.7 percent of those points and hit three aces. Rinaldo Persson was far steadier at 68.6 percent first serves in, yet won only 52.1 percent behind them, and her seven double faults outnumbered Radivojevic's six. That gap on serve effectiveness decided it, and Radivojevic moved a step closer to the main draw.
