Van de Zandschulp routs Vallejo 6-2 6-0 in Winston-Salem

Botic van de Zandschulp needed little more than an hour's worth of clean tennis to sweep past Adolfo Daniel Vallejo 6-2, 6-0 in the Winston-Salem round of 32, closing with a bagel set. The Dutchman's serve was the foundation: 60.4% of first serves landed, 72.4% of those points went his way, and even on second serve he won 57.9%, with four aces against a single double fault. Vallejo, by contrast, found only 42.9% of first serves and coughed up seven double faults, winning just 33.3% behind the second ball. It was a statement of control that pushed Van de Zandschulp into the next round.
