Chidekh routs Coria 6-2 6-2 in US Open qualifying
Clement Chidekh needed just two brisk sets to see off Federico Coria 6-2 6-2 in the qualifying quarterfinals at the US Open, never letting the Argentine settle. The Frenchman's serve did the steady work: 59.6% of first deliveries landed and brought him 71.4% of those points, while he still won 52.6% behind the second ball. Coria, by contrast, found only 55.2% of first serves and was punished on the second, taking just 34.6% of those points, with six double faults compounding the damage on a hard court that offered him no shelter. The win moved Chidekh a step closer to the main draw.
