Lajovic recovers to edge Kwon in US Open qualifying
Dusan Lajovic turned around a difficult start at US Open qualifying, dropping the opening set 4-6 to Soon Woo Kwon before taking the second 7-5 to move through the quarterfinal round. The Serb's serve was the steadier of the two: seven aces without a single double fault, 66.7% of first deliveries landed, and 78.9% of second-serve points won. Kwon struck more aces, twelve in all, but managed only 60.9% first serves in and won just 44.4% behind the second, with two double faults adding to the pressure. The win kept Lajovic's main-draw bid alive.
