Fruhvirtova routs Kudermetova 6-1 6-3 in US Open qualifying

Linda Fruhvirtova was rarely troubled in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals, breezing past Polina Kudermetova 6-1, 6-3. The Czech's returning had plenty to feed on: Kudermetova landed just 54.5 percent of first serves, won only 50 percent of those points and a meagre 24 percent behind her second, while coughing up 11 double faults. Fruhvirtova was hardly flawless herself, putting in 50.8 percent of first serves with seven double faults, but she won 71 percent of first-serve points and never let the pressure back. It moved her one win from the main draw.
