Sakatsume routs Ortenzi 6-3 6-1 in US Open qualifying
Himeno Sakatsume needed only two efficient sets to see off Jazmin Ortenzi 6-3 6-1 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Japanese player's serve barely wavered: she landed 72.7 percent of first deliveries, won 68.8 percent of those points and, crucially, still took 66.7 percent behind her second ball while conceding just one double fault. Ortenzi, by contrast, was undone on her own delivery, winning only 25 percent of second-serve points and adding three double faults to the damage. With that platform, Sakatsume moved through to the final round of qualifying in New York.
