Wong rallies past Moller in US Open qualifying quarterfinals

Chak Lam Coleman Wong recovered from a set down to beat Elmer Moller 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Hong Kong player's serve was erratic but explosive: only 49.5% of his first deliveries landed, yet he won 85.4% of those points and struck 13 aces to Moller's one. That firepower papered over seven double faults, and it left the Dane with little margin, as Moller won just 59.5% behind his own first serve despite putting 57.4% in play. Wong's second serve held up too, at 49%, enough to swing a three-set battle and move him a round from the main draw.
