Seyboth Wild routs Brancaccio 6-2 6-1 in US Open qualifying
Thiago Seyboth Wild needed barely an hour's worth of resistance to sweep past Raul Brancaccio 6-2, 6-1 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Brazilian's serve was the difference: eight aces against a single double fault, and although only 53.6% of his first serves landed, he won 86.7% of those points and half of his second-serve points. Brancaccio never found the same footing, managing one ace, putting just 50% of first serves in and winning only 47.4% behind them and 42.1% behind the second. The result carried Seyboth Wild within one win of the main draw.
