Salkova rallies past Urhobo in three sets in US Open qualifying
Dominika Salkova came from a set down to beat Akasha Urhobo 3-6 6-3 7-5 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Czech's serve was a strange mix: 12 double faults and only 59% of first serves in, yet she stayed afloat by winning 52.7% of her second-serve points, an unusually solid figure for a player under that much strain. Urhobo landed 57.3% of first serves and won 62.7% of those points, but her second delivery yielded just 39.5%, and that gap told across the closing games. Salkova moved a round closer to the main draw.
