Iatcenko routs Struplova 6-2 6-1 in US Open qualifying

Polina Iatcenko needed barely more than an hour's worth of resistance to sweep past Julie Struplova 6-2, 6-1 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Russian's serve was the difference: she landed 66.7% of first deliveries and won 84.6% of those points, backing it up with 61.5% behind her second ball and just one double fault. Struplova actually found the box more often, at 71.4%, but converted only 45.7% of her first-serve points and 42.9% of her seconds, while three double faults added to the leaks. The win moved Iatcenko within reach of the main draw.
