Klimovicova Beats Pigato 6-3 6-3 in US Open Qualifying

Linda Klimovicova controlled her US Open qualifying quarterfinal from start to finish, seeing off Italy's Lisa Pigato 6-3 6-3. The Czech was close to untouchable behind her delivery, landing 60.4 percent of first serves and winning 86.2 percent of those points, while still taking 78.9 percent behind her second ball. Pigato's serve told the opposite story: eight double faults, just 63.4 percent of first-serve points won and only 41.7 percent on the second. Klimovicova also struck four aces to her opponent's one, and her clean straight-sets win moved her another step through qualifying.
